Getting started

Your first launch: MAC address and device key

The first time the app opens it registers the device and shows the two things you need on this site.

Open the app once. It registers itself and puts two values on the home screen:

  • the MAC address — twelve characters in pairs, like 1A:2B:3C:4D:5E:6F
  • the device key — a short code beside it

You need both to activate the device here on the site.

They do different jobs

The MAC address identifies the device. It is not a secret — it is the kind of thing printed on the back of a router.

The device key protects it. It is the part that proves the device is yours, so keep it to yourself and do not post it in a group chat when asking for help.

If the app does not show them

The first launch has to reach our server. If it cannot, there is nothing to show yet:

  1. Check the device is actually online — open a browser or another app on it.
  2. Close VERINZO completely and open it again.
  3. If it still will not, see error messages for the exact wording you are seeing.

Send us a message and tell us which step you are on — it saves a round of questions.
